Courtney Love was taken to a hospital in New York on her 40th birthday after missing an arraignment for an assault charge in California. Her lawyer said “It’s a gynecological medical condition for which she is receiving treatment.” A warrant was issued for her arrest when she did not appear in court in Los Angeles for arraignment on an assault charge. Her lawyer claims she was confused about whether she was required to be at the hearing. The Court Commissioner said there was no excuse for her failure to appear, and he set a new bail of $150,000 dollars after he said she forfeited her $55,000 bail. On a more interesting note, Courtney also said to police on Friday, July 9th, “Today is my birthday and I had an abortion.”
