Jack Black talks about his musical roots, and how Nirvana influenced him. “I liked bands that didn’t have a lot of fans and needed me,” he says. “With Nirvana, I couldn’t say, ‘I don’t like you anymore because you’re huge.’ They pulled me into the mainstream and opened me up to my weird cheesy phase.” Dave Grohl attended the premiere of “School of Rock”, which stars Black and mentions Kurt Cobain and Nirvana as being “great musicians”.
