Journals is a controversial but intriguing look into the heart and mind of Kurt Cobain.
Released in 2002, many discussions surrounding Kurt Cobain’s Journals questioned the morality in releasing such supposedly ’sacred’ artifacts.
The title of the book may be misleading though, as this is more a collection of ideas, pictures, sketches and editorials in addition to more conventional journal-style entries.
More than anything, Journals gives us a glimpse into Kurt Cobain’s creative process. Considering that a great deal of Journals features Cobain’s editorial-like opinions, much of this book seems like it was written to be shared anyway - making the controversy surrounding this book seem unnecessary.
A very interesting and recommended read for any fan - and you don’t even have to feel bad about reading it.
