A rare guitar once owned by Kurt Cobain was sold for $117,500 at the Icons Of 20th Century Music auction conducted by Heritage Galleries of Dallas, Texas. This was the first sale of one of Kurt’s instruments since his death 10 years ago. Cobain purchased the rare “Mark IV”-style Mosrite Gospel in 1990. The original guitar case bears the words “Nirvana” and “Fuck Elvis” in white paint. Although they’ve been painted over with the same color, the words are still visible upon close inspection.
