Nirvana`s In Bloom music video brilliantly showcases the bands` humorous side, creating a parody of 60`s rock n’ roll.
Shot entirely in black and white, the video concept features the band playing a television appearance for something similar to the “Ed Sullivan Show” in the era of the Beatles. The host introduces the band as “thoroughly all right and decent fellows”`to a screaming audience. The video begins with the band playing in suits, with Cobain wearing black rimmed old-style glasses.
The video goes on to find the band wearing dresses while destroying the surrounding set and stage. There are two versions of this video - the other featuring one long take on the band in the dresses.
The video won `Best Alternative Video`at the 1993 MTV Music Video Awards.
