The Man Who Sold The World is a cover of a David Bowie song, from MTV’s Unplugged In New York performance.
“I guarantee you I will screw this song up,” Cobain announces just before the song. He was having trouble with the arrangement during rehearsals, which can be seen in the Nirvana Unplugged DVD.
After Kurt had passed away, David Bowie was quoted as saying “I would of liked to have worked with him”.
